JOB SUMMARY:

About the Agency

The Eisenhower School is recruiting for Faculty members to serve in the Department of Strategic Leadership. The incumbent is responsible for leading graduate level seminars and providing coaching in the area of Strategic Leadership.

NDU develops joint warfighters and other national security leaders through rigorous academics, research and engagement to serve the common defense.

The Eisenhower School prepares selected military and civilians for strategic leadership and success in developing our national security strategy and in evaluating, marshaling, and managing resources in the execution of that strategy.

This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • To qualify for this position, you must:

    Have a master's degree, doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree preferred in with an academic specialty related to strategic leadership in the fields of behavioral science, organizational development/design/culture, sociology, psychology, cognitive science or related disciplines.

    Have a substantial record of excellence in teaching in a higher education institution(s).

    Have research experience, demonstrated through scholarship, publications, and/or outreach activities; recognition within academic, research communities, or professional experience.

    Have relevant professional experience in professional experience in developing and managing individual assessment and development programs, to include demonstrated experience using psychological assessment tools, various psychological instruments, and statistical analysis.

    Have demonstrated experience training counselors or executive coaches.

    Have demonstrated experience providing executive assessment and development counseling to senior military officers and government officials.

    Have experience working on collaborative interdisciplinary teams.
    Desired Qualifications:
    Experience as team leader of an interdisciplinary team, academic department chair, or program manager.
    Experience teaching at the graduate level within the Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) system.
    Criteria For Determining Academic Rank:
    Assistant Professor is an individual who must possess an earned master degree, doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree preferred, with an academic specialty related to strategic leadership in the fields of behavioral science, organizational development/design/culture, sociology, psychology, cognitive science or related disciplines. They should have progressive professional experience in a field related to strategic leadership, and documented excellence serving at the assistant professor level at a regionally-accredited university or college involving full-time teaching.
    Associate Professor is an individual who must possess an earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree with an academic specialty related to strategic leadership in the fields of behavioral science, organizational development/design/culture, sociology, psychology or cognitive science or related disciplines. They should have significant professional experience with strategic leadership, and documented outstanding full-time graduate-level teaching at a regionally-accredited university or college for at least five years.
    Professor is an individual who must possess an earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree with an academic specialty related to strategic leadership in the fields of behavioral science, organizational development/design/culture, sociology, psychology, cognitive science or related disciplines. They should have significant professional experience with strategic leadership, and documented outstanding full-time graduate-level teaching at a regionally-accredited university or college for at least seven years,

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Background or Security Investigation: This is a Non Critical Sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a Non Critical Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
