The George Mason University Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Multicultural Education (ODIME) invites applications for an Assistant Director for Programming. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Associate Director, this position will coordinate and/or support university-wide diversity programming initiatives. The incumbent will be skilled at planning large-scale diversity events, facilitating performance contracts, and space management; and will work closely with student programming teams while simultaneously supporting the success of the universitys diverse student body. Duties include: * In collaboration with campus and community partners, develop a portfolio of annual programs that enhance departmental outreach and increase the awareness of ODIMEs mission and services; * Coordinate university-wide multicultural events (i.e., the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. week), securing speakers and managing all relevant logistical needs; * Assess student and community constituent relationships and create opportunities for collaborative programming and research; * Encourage collaborations between student groups and academic departments to enhance existing and new programs within the department; * Coordinate cultural heritage month programming, ensuring that signature programs are secured the semester prior to implementation; and * Work with relevant student organizations in support of campus-wide multicultural programming ventures.

Required Qualifications: * Earned masters degree in higher education, counseling, social work, education, or a related field; * Ability to work with large-scale programming and performance contracting processes; * Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required; * Strong interpersonal communication, community-building, organizational, and time-management skills; * Interest in working with diverse student populations and community members; * Experience working with undergraduate students on a college campus; and * Two to three years of full-time work experience.
