To design and to provide graphic services for materials developed in the Advertising Department, including print advertising, collateral, signage, institutional publications, and other printed materials as required by the Kennedy Center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

97%     Creating designs on computer for ads, direct mail, collateral, and other materials.

  2%     Specifying printing instructions, reviewing bluelines and other printer’s proofs.

  1%     Assist Graphic Design Intern when necessary.

Education/Experience:

The Graphic Artist must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in graphic/commercial art and must have at least two years related professional experience.

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required:

The Graphic Artist must have proficiency in desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite--PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign) in a PC environment. The Graphic Artist must provide a portfolio that demonstrates ability and experience. The Graphic Artist should be proficient in layout and design and computer-generated artwork production and have working knowledge of four-color printing process. The Graphic Artist should be able to handle multiple assignments under the pressure of tight deadlines; be detail-oriented and organized; able to follow creative direction; and conscientious about following purchasing and routing procedures and taking instructions for edits and changes.
