Tenure-Line Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing
The George Mason University School of Business invites applications for a Tenure-Line Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing position to begin Fall 2018. Preference will be given to associate professors, although both ranks will be considered. Candidates for the associate position must have an established record of excellence in research and teaching. Such candidates may be considered for a tenured appointment, subject to School and University approval. Salary will be commensurate with experience and level.
Responsibilities: Major responsibilities include publishing in premier business journals; teaching marketing courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs, and service to the area, school and university.
- Earned Ph.D. or equivalent in marketing from an AACSB-accredited university prior to the start date;
- Record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with an appointment for the appropriate rank--this record should demonstrate potential for publishing significant research in top-tier journals and an ability to teach effectively; and
- Good citizenship is critical as is the ability to work well with colleagues.
- Although applicants from any functional area of marketing are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to candidates with research interests related to issues in marketing strategy.
Marketing Area: The Marketing Area has diverse research and teaching interests. We offer a vibrant, ambitious and collegial research and teaching community. Research is highly valued in the area and at the school. At present, there are 11 full-time faculty members in the area. The Marketing Area faculty have published in many of the premier journals, including Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, and Academy of Management Journal, as well as many other top journals.
