Job Description   Ready to make an impact?  If so, read on!  Our IT department is looking for a dynamic Associate Systems Engineer to join the GEICO Team.  Associate System Engineers are responsible for design, implementation, and support of client technologies to optimize end use productivity and experience. This position also requires someone with a dedicated focus to satisfy our customers. Engineers are responsible for innovating technical solutions and creating strong partnerships with vendors, colleagues, and business customers to deliver new and improved mobile and desktop computing capabilities. They contribute their technical expertise and establish architectural vision for end-user computing. This role is also responsible for serving as a technical escalation point for client technology issues.   Responsibilities Include:
  • Providing Office 265 Exchange online support/virtual desktop support.
  • Creating and maintaining system images, desktop, and application virtualization.
  • Performing enterprise-wide system patching for OS and standard applications.
  • Administer the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) toolset.
  • Coordinate technical support with vendors and other IT teams when necessary.
  • Research and participate in projects to implement new technologies.
  • This position will require an on-call rotation that will be 7x24.
  Education and Experience:
  • 2-4 years of technical experience managing a desktop or exchange environment.
  • Strong communication skills and being a part of a team environment are essential in order to be successful in this role.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.  Equivalent work experience/technical training is acceptable.
  • 2-4 years of experience in PowerShell, programming, and scripting languages.
  • Microsoft/VMWare certifications preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of the Windows OS platform through 10, as well as Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Proficient with SCCM, VMWare, Horizon Software or other enterprise-level thin client solutions.
  • Proficient in DNS, DHCP, GPO, and a foundational knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management
  • Previous work experience with Azure and Office 365 is preferred.
