The George Mason University College of Education and Human Development (www.cehd.gmu.edu/) Mathematics Education Leadership Program is seeking to hire a full-time, term instructional faculty member to meet the needs of its expanding program. The Mathematics Education Leadership Program is dedicated to graduating exceptionally well-prepared teacher leaders. Nurturing strong partnerships with local school districts across the commonwealth of Virginia, Mathematics Education Leadership faculty provide timely research and professional development aimed at improving the quality of mathematics education for all students. Housed within the Division of Advanced Professional Teacher Development and International Education, this faculty member would work with students across multiple tracks and complement a vibrant faculty focused on research in mathematics education.

Responsibilities: Teaching graduate-level courses across multiple programs (mathematics education, mathematics, elementary education and secondary education); involvement with the development and delivery of online courses; working with both campus-centered and school-based cohorts across the commonwealth of Virginia; and facilitation of progress monitoring for continuous improvement across multiple programs. The base teaching load is four courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Mathematics education leadership coursework encompasses curriculum, assessment, research, school change, K-12 mathematics content, and elementary and secondary mathematics methods courses--with courses offered in a variety of learning formats, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes with evening schedules.

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate focused on mathematics education or a related content field, experience with synchronous online teaching, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with faculty from the division and across campus.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence and versatility in university teaching assignments; five or more years of successful teaching and/or coaching in K-12 schools settings; and experience working with diverse populations, graduate-level students, and practicing K-12 teachers.
