Administrative Assistant, Executive Education Team - McCourt School of Public Policy

Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy (MCPP) offers dynamic and flexible executive education options for individual professionals or customized experiences for domestic and international organizations.

The Administrative Assistant serves as an integral member of the McCourt School of Public Policy's Executive Education, providing diverse, high-level administrative support and management of the day-to-day operational functions, and serving as the front-line face of Executive Education in interactions with prospective students, McCourt School faculty, client organizations, and other critical stakeholders.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant has duties that include but are not limited to:

Program Support

  • Serves as front line logistical support for all Executive Education programming.
  • Coordinates various program promotion events, recruiting fairs, and prospective student engagement activities.
  • Executes program logistics and scheduling - for example, secures rooms, catering, and equipment for classes as necessary.
  • Oversees preparation of course materials, including photocopying and portfolio assembly.
  • In coordination with the Associate Director, acts as administrative and scheduling liaison with faculty.


  • Provides frontline coverage of the Executive Education reception area during core hours.
  • Serves as first point of contact for all visitors and callers.
  • Monitors Executive Education department email account.
  • Schedules meetings and manages calendars on behalf of the Executive Director and Executive Education Office.
  • Arranges travel on behalf of the Executive Director and Executive Education Office staff.

Admissions Support

Participates in the recruitment of prospective students by responding to questions and scheduling applicant interviews.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of work experience
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and budget programs, and the ability to learn new programs
  • Experience or willingness to learn academic management programs
  • Excellent organizational, writing/communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Self-starter willing to reliably assume responsibility and to work independently
  • Ability to carry out specified financial responsibilities
  • High level of professionalism and strong analytical thinking
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend duties
  • Availability for occasional travel (less than 10%)
