The Experienced Bookkeeper will have a strong background with QuickBooks and Excel. The individual will be responsible for posting activity in approximately thirty-five (35) sets of books (two (2) companies and thirty-three (33) trusts); downloading activity from banks into QuickBooks.

The candidate will be responsible for:

Preparing deposits.

Maintaining bond and stock schedules.

Preparing year-end work papers (trial balance with supporting schedules) for all trusts and companies.

Processing accounts payable and receivable for the two (2) small companies.

Providing backup support to another bookkeeper in the office.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Bookkeeper key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Post from Cash Receipts and Disbursements sheets into appropriate accounts.

Reconcile accounts.

Prepare quarterly distributions as required.

Prepare annual letter to parents of children receiving gifts into their trusts.

Prepare Trial Balance with supporting schedules for all trusts and companies at year end.

Other tasks as required/requested.

  • Balancing accounts (also known as 'double book keeping')
