Visiting Guest Artist in Scenic Design

The George Mason University School of Theater within the College of Visual and Performing Arts invites applicants for a one-year appointment as a Visiting Guest Artist in Scenic Design. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching two courses in design and technology per academic semester. Co-curricular responsibilities include the creation of scenic designs for each of the departments main stage shows (two productions per academic year/one per semester), serving as mentor to student assistants and studio show designers (four in the academic year), and working closely and collaboratively with departmental production manager, technical director, faculty and staff.

Required Qualification: * MFA in scenic design (or related field) and demonstrated professional experience.

Preferred Qualification: * Expertise in teaching another design area(s).
