Assistant Coach - Swimming
Reporting to the Aquatics Director/Head Swim Coach, the Assistant Swim Coach will:
â€¢ Assist the Head Coach with coaching, recruiting, scouting/strategy and practice planning.
â€¢ Teach stroke technique
â€¢ Assist with organizational planning (travel, community service, study hall, etc.), and support player development and assist with roster management
â€¢ Assist with management of team budget and equipment planning
â€¢ Be responsible for team social media accounts
â€¢ Help with the planning and organization of camps and clinics, community based swim programs, and lifeguard training courses. Also includes assisting with hiring and managing pool staff.
â€¢ Follow Athletic Department Policy and Procedures.
â€¢ Provide positive leadership for student-athletes.
â€¢ Know and comply with all NCAA rules and regulations, and pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Exam annually.
â€¢ Perform additional duties as assigned.
â€¢ Lifeguard training instructor certification
â€¢ Safety training for swim coach certification
â€¢ Current CPR/First Aid certification
â€¢ Valid drivers license
â€¢ Familiar with NCAA rules and regulations
â€¢ Bachelor’s degree
â€¢ Collegiate coaching experience in competitive swimming
â€¢ Experience teaching swim programs
â€¢ ASCA Level 3 preferred
â€¢ Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships with students, coaches, staff and faculty
â€¢ Proficiency in HyTek and Dakronics timing system
