The Emmes Corporation, founded in 1977, is a successful contract research organization based in Rockville, Maryland, dedicated to the support of medical research with a public health impact.

Emmes is seeking a Temporary/Full-Time Recruitment Assistant to provide overall general recruitment administrative support to the Recruitment Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer all required assessments during candidate interview

  • Post and maintain the internal and external open positions

  • Track, update and maintain all interview data in the company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

  • Partner with the Recruiters to develop strong relationships to maximize effectiveness of the recruiting process

  • Schedule interviews, checks references, conduct background checks, prepare offer letters of employment, send decline letters

  • May prescreen applicants over the phone

  • Participate in recruiting events (annual conferences, career fairs, Emmes Open House event, etc)

  • Follow established company policies to ensure non-discriminatory and legally compliant and ethical practices

  • Perform administrative duties, which include but are not limited to; filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning, data entry, and scheduling meetings related to the recruitment

  • Track and maintain yearly AAP

  • Other HR related duties as assigned by the Staffing Manager

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years HR experience in corporate setting preferred

  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices

  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve in a fast paced work environment

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff across various departments

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment

  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (Taleo ATS platform preferred)

  • Experience posting jobs on a variety of online job boards and other recruiting resources

  • Ability to travel for recruitment meetings, college visits, and career fairs and maintain a flexible work schedule as needed

  • Strong business ethics and a high level of professionalism

  • High attention to detail
