General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a Technical Writer/Quality Control/Trainer to provide support on a mission centric 24x7 enterprise operations & data center(s) infrastructure. Candidate will support a wide variety of classified and unclassified networks dispersed over multiple geographic regions. The candidate will be responsible for researching, preparing and editing technical documents for the enterprise-wide systems and/or applications. The candidate will perform the following duties:

 

 1. Researches, prepares and edits complex technical documents for publication, including user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.

 2. Reviews, researches, and edits information for preparation of contract deliverables.

 3. Ensures documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.

 4. Interfaces with writers, illustrators, word processors, and subject matter experts in coordinating/preparing the edited draft for publication.

 5. Participates in the creation of proposals and multi-media presentation materials.

 6. Participates in the design and development of marketing brochures, conference programs, public relations announcements, and other materials when requested.

 7. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical documentation staff members.

 8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 9. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism or a related discipline.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current TS/SCI polygraph clearance
  • 5-8 years of related experience preparing and editing technical documentation.
  • Support the various work schedules/shifts in a 24x7 Operations CenterPrior work on large, geographically disperse networksKnowledge of ITIL service management processesEffective communications skills.Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices involved in technical research, writing and editing. Knowledge of and ability to uses various word-processing and desktop publishing software applications. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.Knowledge of the organization’s products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user’s level of understanding. Professional certification in one or more specific technologies is required such as, ITSM products, ITIL Foundations, PMP, etc.
