Information Security Engineer

Key Role:
Provide Information Assurance (IA) support to a large federal client. Function as an IA network security subject matter expert and provide Assessment and Authorization (A&A) support. Apply advanced knowledge of networking and technical system design to analyzing network architectures and security measures. Assist with the modification and management of the A&A process. Provide analysis for the drafting of security policies, plans, design changes, and other relevant documents to ensure accreditation packets are complete and current and assist the team with supporting IA programs. Work with a diverse professional staff, including the Information System Security Officer (ISSO), security engineers and architects, privacy, policy, and risk analysts, mission assurance and disaster recovery professionals, system users, and IT auditors to ensure security and privacy requirements are incorporated throughout the systems development life cycle. Support other IA activities, including risk analysis, weakness remediation, vulnerability management, continuous system monitoring, configuration management, and component oversight, including providing technical analysis in applicable situations.

Basic Qualifications:
-1+ years of experience with IA and Certification and Accreditation (C&A)
-Experience with Microsoft Visio
-Experience in working with government clients
-Experience with the DoD or NIST IA instruction series
-Knowledge of advanced networking
-Active Secret clearance required
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with the DHS IA instruction series
-Experience with writing security policies
-CISSP or CISM Certification
