Help Desk Support Specialist, Mid

Key Role:
Join a dynamic team providing a variety of systems engineering, maintenance, and information systems support to a National Capital Region client. Provide first and second tier support to end users for either PC, server, or mainframe applications or hardware and monitor and maintain installed communication and computer systems. Perform help desk functions and interface with clients in person, over the phone, and through e-mail to open, resolve, and close REMEDY tickets. Perform system administration of desktop workstations, servers, and printers and create and administer network user accounts. Integrate desktop and server hardware and software and monitor the status and performance of classified and unclassified LANs. Develop, maintain, and review diagrams and schematics, develop and maintain databases, and integrate and fabricate copper and fiber optic cabling and assemblies in support of technical infrastructure. This position requires the ability to conduct limited shift work at the 24x7x365 Operations Center.


Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with IT or computer information systems

-Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies

-Ability to perform hardware and operating system troubleshooting

-Secret clearance required

-HS diploma or GED required

-DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office

-Experience with networking devices and operating systems

-Knowledge of BMC Remedy implementation and usage

-Knowledge of audio and visual technologies

-Ability to operate video teleconferencing (VTC) equipment

-Ability to complete projects and tasks with minimal supervision

-CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco Certifications


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
