Legal Placements, Inc. has an amazing opportunity to for a motivated college graduate with at least six months of office experience to join an international law firm and be trained in patent prosecution. This role is house in the firm's Northern Virginia/ Tyson's Corner office and will primarily be responsible for assisting with United States patent filings in accordance with the USPTO guidelines. The trainee will support the US specialists, patent attorneys, patent agents and paralegals. Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree or prior patent prosecution experience. In this role, the trainee will be responsible for maintaining Redbook and reviewing electronic Weekly Docket for assigned clients; proactively communicating with and reminding practitioners of due dates; reviewing Daily Dockets and attending to pertinent entries with Docket Department. The trainee will gain knowledge and be responsible for adhering to USPTO procedures and firm policies and protocols and timely creating and filing accurate and comprehensive USPTO submissions, including Information Disclosure Statements. You will also have the opportunity to work with and update firm clients, and respond to client inquiries regarding routine patent portfolio matter. The successful candidate will be motivated to continually stay up to date and grow their knowledge of US patent rules. Company Description: For close to 20 years Legal Placements, Inc.
