AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Test Engineer to support our customer. The Test Engineer will be a strong analytical problem solver responsible for performing backend web services testing. This position is located in our Chantilly, Virginia office.Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for providing requirements review, analysis, and testing for web services applications. The Test Engineer will assist the Senior Test Engineer in extracting meaningful test metrics for requirements, test execution, and defect analysis. As a member of the test team, the successful candidate will execute tasks related to the creation of test cases, test scripts, and test data. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Work closely with product owners and developers to implement the testing methodology required for applications development in a reliable and scalable environment * Work closely with project managers and other team members to understand product specifics and implement corresponding test strategies * Design, develop, and execute automated tests to validate solutions and environments * Evaluate existing test scenarios and test plans and update as necessary * Create project resource estimates and track metrics for completion, defect reports, defect prevention, development efficiency, and quality * Take initiative to advance the quality, performance, or scalability of our applications by influencing the architecture or design Minimum Requirements: * A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline. * Three (3) years of demonstrated, hands-on software testing experience in an Agile environment * Current VA access, including active PIV card * Experience testing in a Java environment * Hands-on experience with open source tools such as JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber, and Spring Test * Must be able to analyze requirements for testability, review technical documentation to understand project architecture, and ensure traceability between various testing artifacts * Must have understanding of web-based applications, web services, and service oriented architecture (SOA) * Must have experience with integration testing and verifying system/component log files for errors and warnings * US Citizenship is required as is successfully passing a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting Desired Qualifications; * Healthcare IT project experience * Familiarity with Section 508 compliance
