Company Description Our client, a large national CPA firm providing accounting resource services to their clients, has asked us to assist in their efforts to recruit an Accounting Manager with External Audit, Big 4 or Top 7 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Firm experience and who is experience in servicing larger clients $500M-$3B+ for their Washington, DC location. The ideal candidate should be ACHIEVERS difference makers with entrepreneurial spirit and plan to be future C-Suite candidates, up-and-comers.Must be a licensed CPA or working toward one. US Citizens and Green Card Preferred. No Third Party Candidates Job Description The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing audit and accounting engagements for the company's financial services clients. Job Duties:Keeping lines of communication open with partners, staff and clientsMonitoring engagements according to work planKeeping abreast of all industry developments and ensuring professional development through ongoing educationInsure that audits are conducted under the "Company Guide"Anticipating and addressing client concerns, and escalating problems as they ariseRecognizing and informing management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clientsOther duties as assigned Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, or progress towards, is preferred.Minimum of 3 years of strong accounting experience. This includes at least 2 busy seasons in external audit with a Big 4 or large Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Firm.Corporate accounting and/or finance experience at a large public corporation is a plus but not required.Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Services Board (FASB) rules and standards.Strong computer desktop skills required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (ie, macros, pivot tables, etc.) desirable.Demonstrated career progression and job stability.
