Description:The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) of Leidos has an opening in Chantilly, VA for a Senior Software Engineer.JOB SUMMARY:This Software Engineer will join a team dedicated to delivering advanced signal processing, communications, and radar solutions to US Government customers. The ASG in Leidos is on the forefront in the development of specialized advanced signal processing techniques, and is now entering an exciting phase of transitioning algorithms from the research lab to operational status through implementation in both software and custom hardware systems. Additionally, we are supporting efforts for multi-INT analytics to support cloud processing. This is a great opportunity to help build new capabilities from the ground up, in support of both Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:* Develop software for scientific applications.* Assist Leidos signal processing scientists, communication system engineers, and synthetic aperture radar scientists in the initial development of prototype algorithms and processing applications that were developed using MATLAB or other languages.* Translate prototype algorithms into optimized cross-platform scalable solutions using high-performance languages and architectures.* Support advanced cloud processing techniques that may support visualization and advanced streaming techniques for big data multi-INT processing and machine learning.* Oversight and coordination of the software team to support a myriad of technical projects.* Work in a dynamic team environment on all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, integration and test, validation, and maintenance.Qualifications:EDUCATION:* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other technical area and 15+ years' experience required. Advanced degree and/or dual degrees in a relevant technical discipline such as engineering, mathematics or physics desired.SECURITY CLEARANCES:* Must have an active TS/SCI security clearanceBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:* Fluency in MATLAB or equivalent simulation environment* Java/C/C++ coding experience for algorithm development* Java/C++/Qt experience for graphical user interface development* Strong mathematical background in areas such as linear algebra and Fourier analysis* Experience in adaptive signal processing and communications systems and standards* Basic understanding of satellite orbitology and mission management* Knowledge of RHEL/CentOS Linux including networking and basic administration* LINUX experience* Parallel computing experience on Linux Clusters* Technical programming experience with Graphical Processing Units (GPU)* Familiarity with cloud technologies including: OpenStack, Cloudera Hadoop, Storm, and/or Accumulo* Web server administration including: WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, SSL certificate security, and/or authentication services* Experience with large data file I/O* Familiarity with relational database administration* Experience writing and maintaining advanced Splunk data mining queries to visualize data* Experience with virtualization technologies including: HyperV, KVM, and VirtualBox* Experience designing applications with Ozone Widget Framework (OWF) and RESTful servicesLeidos Overview:Leidos is a global science and technology solutions leader working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
