General Superintendent in Marine Construction
Construction Risk Solutions is seeking a General Superintendent for one of the largest marine contractor's in the Mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of marine construction experience, at least 5 years of management experience, and experience with marine projects and equipment. Marine General Superintendent Job Responsibilities:Study specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of stating and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.Work with project team to develop a solid understanding of the project strategy and commitmentsPerform in-depth reviews of drawings and contract documents to become familiar with all details and requirementsParticipate in Project Start Up procedure: attend scheduled meetings; review estimates for manpower and equipment needs; review safety procedures and alternative methods of constructionPlan and manage Safety program, responsible for all onsite safety proceduresLead Superintendents, Foremen, and other field staff; deploy the project strategy, communicate expectations and direction regarding schedules, construction methods, policies, and standards.Assist in planning and executing field activities and provide technical assistant as requiredSupervise all field operations ensuring that the work is being done in accordance with the project strategy and construction documents, and that Subcontractor performance and quality of work meet the standardsMake regularly scheduled visits to job sites and perform thorough walkthroughsMaintain project progress and needed to meet schedule and budget requirementsInspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.Supervise job assignment and professional development for all field personnel.
