The Junior Accountant's job is to perform routine accounting activities such as, preparation of various accounting and financial reports and accounts payable or receivable functions. The primary responsibility of the Junior Accountant is to manage high volume accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and documentation. The Junior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitors accounts and processes accurate paperwork in a timely manner; * Processes vendor invoices, employee and contractor expense reports to include verifying accuracy and coding to chart of accounts; enters and posts vouchers in the accounting system; processes checks to vendors and employees; maintains paper and electronic vendor files. * Ensures organizational compliance with purchasing and expense reimbursement procedures and policies. * Process W-9's and ensure record maintenance for 1099 vendors. * Assists in generation of invoices to customers on CPFF, T/M, and FFP type contracts. * Handle and complete special projects as they arise. 2. Researches information; * Researches and resolves account discrepancies; responds to vendor and employee inquiries regarding accounts payable. JOB REQUIREMENTS: A. Educational Background and or Professional Certifications and or Clearances/ Licenses; (eg occupational or industry related) * Requires an associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field. B. Experience Level; Entry - Intermediate * 1-3 years of experience as a Junior Accountant or the equivalent combination of education and experience. C. Occupational and Industry specific knowledge, skills and abilities; * Basic knowledge of governmental contracting and Joint Travel Regulations is preferred. * Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures with regard to accounting, job costing and government contract accounting. * Able to manage multitask work in strong-paced environment. * Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects. * Requires the ability to use calculators, copiers and other office equipment; and attention to detail. * Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work. TECHNOLOGY AND TOOLS: * Working knowledge of industry software such as Intuit QuickBooks software * Ability to use a desktop, laptop and smart phone * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Browsing software Company Description: National Conferencing Inc.
