Responsibilities:Provide technical expertise in order to fully administer UNET and SNET networks which consist of Cisco networking equipment.Responsible for the full administration and management of all network equipment.Respond to critical and VIP tickets within one hour upon notificationInstall new modified hardware, operating systems and software applicationsMaintain the LAN links and connectivity, switches, hubs, routers, servers (Windows and Unix OS), Storage Area Network (SAN), media backup systems, fiber and Ethernet cabling, and other infrastructure components to ensure 100% operability during core hours.Respond to all TrackIT/FootPrints support request related to Unified Capabilities to include Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Voice over Secret Internet Protocol (VoSIP), and Enterprise Classified Voice over Internet Protocol. (ECVoIP) devices.Move data between networks of the same security classification level, ensuring it is operational during core business hours.Analyze the network architecture utilizing metrics available from the Government provided network management tool "What's up Gold" to identify modification required to maintain optimum efficiency.Ensure communications links are operational.Provide software support to users as requested via TrackIT/FootPrints.Provide monthly report of software tracking to include software installed during the month.Install and update anti-virus software and snit-virus signature files when released by Defense Information Security Agency (DISA)Install security patches to protect against information assurance (IA) vulnerabilitiesAdminister Hewlett Packard (HP) physical virtual server farm that includes but not limited to storage area networks (SAN), application servers and Netbackup system servers ensuring all systems are available during core business hoursInstall Government Public Key Infrastructure PKI) server side certificates and implement Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and other secure methods to support access to the VPN, VPN servers, CITRIX, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Oracle servers.Configure and support use of DoD Common Access Card (CAC) and PKI for user authentication onto the network, access to applications, and for signing and encrypting electronic mail.Utilize Government furnished COTS tools such as NEWT Pro, System Center Configuration Center (SCCM) and Symantec GHOST imaging to automate processes for deployment of client software packages.Support the design and configuration of user facility IT infrastructure to support voice and video.Support migration of services and servers to enterprise platforms.Provide technical input into the design and configuration of the user facility infrastructure when requested by the government through formal and informal technical discussions.
