Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to administrate the hourly, weekly, and bi-weekly payroll processes for the company, assuring accuracy and confidentiality in preparing payroll checks. The Payroll Manager will oversee a team of payroll coordinators providing direction to ensure the bi-weekly processes are completed accurately and on time. As the Payroll Manager you will also work with management to ensure that payroll guidelines and policies are met. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller. Essential Functions Coordinates paycheck preparation and distribution procedures accurately and confidentially, assuring proper and timely payment of employees. Resolves errors in computation swiftly and as necessary. Work with other departments and management resolve payroll issues. Prepares and delivers payroll related reports, including but not limited to: Federal and Multi-State Withholding, Federal and Multi-State Unemployment, FICA,Local taxes. Prepares and delivers payment requests for taxes owed in various municipalities. Maintains operation of the in-house payroll systems. Reconciles payroll tax payments, filings and returns Manage year-end payroll tax requirements and processing of employee W-2 forms. Assist with external payroll audits. Manage payroll staff through hiring, training and periodic performance reviews. Secondary Functions Maintains a working knowledge of the payroll report writer and obtains ad hoc reports as needed. Complies with all company safety policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Education and other Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and at least five (5) years experience: or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and ten (10) years experience: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience with multi-state, multi-location company payroll. In-depth knowledge of payroll systems and processes.
