Information Systems Security Engineer/SME Position Description The Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AOUSC), Department of Technology (DTS) InformationTechnology Security Office (ITSO) provides IT security support services to court units (courts) within theFederal Judiciary and manages the Judiciary Information Technology Security Program (Program) in collaborationwith local court units and AOUSC national program offices (NPOs). Court units primarily consist of Federal Appellate Courts, District Courts, Bankruptcy Courts, Probation Offices, and Pretrial Services Offices locatedacross the United States and the US Territories.ITSO provides court units and NPOs with services and support to assist with building and evolving their IT securityprograms. Identifying and managing IT security risks is an integral part of each security program. ITSO'sgoal is to ensure that court units and NPOs have the information necessary to make risk-based decisions with regardto the information systems supporting their mission and business functions.In support of ITSO's mission, the Contractor shall provide IT security professionals to perform security servicesin support of the Judiciary, as described in this Statement of Work (SOW). Your future duties and responsibilities Information Systems Security Engineer/SME:Provides the expertise to conduct systems analysis, certification and accreditation, integration of secure products, security test and evaluation, and development of complex information systems to meet information system security requirements. A broad knowledge of the technical information systems security discipline is required Required qualifications to be successful in this role Information Systems Security Engineer/SME:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Six years of cybersecurity experience directlyrelated to the Task may be substituted for this requirement, at the Government's discretion.At least six years of experience across a broad range of cybersecurity management,operational, and/or technical activities.At least:* Four years of experience in National Institute of Standards (NIST) cybersecurity standards and best practices.* Two years of experience directly related to the Task.* One industry-recognized cybersecurity certification, such as: Certified Information Systems Security Professional(CISSP), Certification Information System Auditor (CISA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler(GCIH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN), GIAC WebApplication Penetration Tester (GWAPT), Offensive Security Web Expert (OSWE), Certified EthicalHacker (CEH), or similar Certification and Authorization Professional (CAP).Information Systems Security Engineer/SME:Acts as a recognized technical expert in base labor category description. Functions as the highest-level individual contributor in at least one technical area. Utilizes expertise in business management practices, industry requirements and information technology disciplines to develop technical and/or business solutions to client problems. Has a high level of diverse technical and industry experience related to a specific skillset. Typically has specialization in a particular technology or business application.
