Virginia Theological Seminary, a graduate school of theology in Alexandria, VA, seeks a full-time Remodeling Assistant to perform tasks in all trades associated with painting and remodeling under the general supervision of the Painting and Remodeling Supervisor. Duties include: remodeling tasks in the areas of carpentry rough in and finish, drywall installation and finishing and painting. Successful candidates would also have some experience in plumbing, electrical, tile work, flooring and wall covering in addition to various general maintenance and snow removal duties as requested. Candidates should also be comfortable with moving furniture and appliances as needed. The successful candidate will possess 1-3 years of experience in the trades associated with building and remodeling; knowledge of the equipment, methods, practices and safety associated with tools in the painting and remodeling trades; ability to follow and give clear written and oral instructions; possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator license; and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds on an ongoing basis.
