Blue Canopy Group, LLC is looking for a Release Engineer in Arlington, Virginia. The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports fundamental research and education in all the non-medical fields of science and engineering. Blue Canopy provides full life cycle IT support services to the NSF. Our team provides support activities for the entire grants life cycle at the NSF which processes $7B of grants annually. This includes managing, planning, assessing, developing, documenting, implementing, overseeing, testing and evaluating mission critical Agency IT activities. Responsibilities:Plan, communicate, and coordinate complex releases that comprise of cross-functional teams and a multitude of interrelated and independent application and / or infrastructure changes. Maintain up to date and relevant playbooks and documentation in support of the release.Coordinate resources and schedules for all release activities and maintenance weekends.Serve as an escalation point to manage the timely resolution of all critical and/or complex problems across the various platforms in all environments including prompt and detailed communication to stakeholders while managing expectations with Sr. Management.Support the DIS Incident Management Process and serve as Incident Manager from inception to closure.Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical staff and facilitate communication and testing across all IT Service areas including Application teams, Help Desk, Infrastructure, Network, and Security. Required Skills:Ability to work flexible hours (nights and weekends)Candidate should have 4-6 years of system analysis experience supporting software or infrastructure releases and a strong familiarity with software development lifecycles (eg waterfall, agile)Exceptional and personable written/oral communication skills with the ability to effectively and articulately interact with CIO-level staffProven ability to effectively lead and partner with various levels of the organization to define and execute cross-functional technical initiatives and / or service delivery processes.Excellent presentation skills and the ability to facilitate meetings.Ability to work under pressure and quickly respond to incidents and requests in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitudeAbility to multi-task and prioritize tasks with minimal supervisionAbility to create and foster one-on-one relationships with key stakeholders Desired Skills:BS/MS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similarCMMI, ITIL, or other IT process experienceTechnical lead or software development experienceIT Coordination, Communications, Incident or Release Management experienceAbility to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audienceExperience with managing and coordinating the activities of multiple project teams Company Description: Blue Canopy Group, LLC is one of the fastest growing businesses in the Greater Washington, DC area.
