With three office locations, this position is based out of our Severn, MD location, with a travel territory throughout the Baltimore/Washington DC/Northern Virginia area. Responsibilities The Fire Alarm Installation Commissioning Technician is focused on system programming, configuration, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems. The Commissioning Technician is also responsible for performing, under some supervision, routine Fire Alarm system programming associated with system start-ups, minor Fire Alarm system changes and modifications, and testing and inspecting Fire Alarm systems, as required. The Installation Commissioning Technician will need to have the ability to use general hand tools and some power tools, the ability to read blue prints, operate small lifts and basic electrical knowledge is a plus. Job duties include, but are not limited to, programming and troubleshooting of Fire Alarm and life safety systems to the prescribed standards. This position will also require the preparation of weekly time reports and service tickets in an accurate and timely manner. Qualifications: 1. 3-5 years of Fire Alarm Installation experience is required.2. Nicet level I or II is preferred.3. Programming of fire alarm and life safety systems experience is required.4. Excellent computer skills are required.5. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills is required.6. Must have knowledge of NFPA 72.7. Experience installing conduit and wiring related to fire alarm is required.8. Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.9. Must possess physical capability to transport required tools and equipment to location where work is being done under various site conditions.10. Must have the ability to work well in teams.11. Must be able to drive a vehicle for company business on a daily basis.12. Must be prompt, consistent, regular attendance.
