Chief Ultrasound/ Sonographer Tech
We are looking for a Chief UltraSound/Sono Tech's in our Sterling location. Must have supervisory experience and be OB, RVT a big plus. Job Description: The Chief Sonography Technologist, under the supervision of the Physician Administrator and designated Manager, supervises the daily technical imaging services and performs imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries and supports the general operation of the office. This is a non-exempt hourly position.Supervise the technical staff and services of the office to ensure prescribed standards are achieved in an efficient and cost effective manner;In consultation with managers and chief technologists throughout the Corporation, develop policies and procedures to facilitate the accomplishment of assigned functions and implement office and corporate policies in a consistent manner;Assure that medical equipment is operated in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and maintain all appropriate documentation to show compliance;Assess medical and related equipment problems taking appropriate corrective action including requesting repairs from outside entities;Assure the office has a system to maintain adequate levels of all supplies and special order items;Assure that safety and OSHA regulations are observed in assigned areas of supervision;Assist in marketing efforts of the Corporation;Keep manager apprised of relevant and important issues in a timely manner;Share responsibility for technical employee selection, orientation, promotion, training, supervision, performance appraisals, counseling and termination with input from appropriate manager(s) and physicians and with proper documentation and consultation on relevant issues;Assure that all technical staff have satisfies and are in compliance with all licensure and credentialing requirements of their positions;Establish and maintain a Quality Assurance Program and assure compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act to include required Quality Control;Understand and administer all policies and procedures of the Corporation in a fair and equitable manner;Address, resolve and, if necessary, document physician, patient and staff complaints in a timely and professional manner;Must be able to perform most of the duties and responsibilities of the subordinates reporting to this position, including CPR and first-aid;Promote a team approach and a positive image of company with everyone whom contact is made and assure staff act in accordance with this expectation;Provide input for budgeting, planning and marketing;Perform other duties as assigned. Experience and Skills:Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer;Should be able to lift and move patients as required;Must become certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation within one year of employment and renew certification annually;Must have three years as a registered technologist in a comparable working situation;Demonstrated management knowledge/skills in the areas of human resources, planning, organizing and directing;All technologists working in the Maryland and Virginia offices must be licensed by the State and must earn and have documentation of at least 30 CEU's at the time of license renewal (every two years).
