Additional information is available at www.dminc.com.Careers at DMIResponsibilities:About the OpportunityDMI is currently seeking to hire a Graphic Visual SW Illustrator to produce graphic art and visual collateral for a Federal Government customer on a long-term contract in the DC metro area.The Graphic Visual SW Illustrator (aka Graphic Artist/Illustrator) is a team member in a team of 8 to 10 contractors in a multi-functional VTC Operations, AV Engineering, and Multimedia Production Support Team of 25-30 contractors and several military staff supporting a DoD organization with video-teleconferencing and multimedia services on multiple networks. Operational and functional tasks include providing first person customer support; graphics and production-specific support including graphic production support, directory creation, cataloging documentation; research and presentation of industry trends; software, hardware, and firmware support; extraordinary operations planning support; receiving and moving of office and production supplies; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.Standard administrative tasks include individual time, timesheet, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.Duties and Responsibilities:* Reports to the Multimedia Production Support Team Lead.* Designs and produce products using current Graphic Arts techniques and software including Adobe Creative Suite Version 5 (CS5).* Provides graphic production support and design of posters, banners, pamphlets, brochures, presentations, matting and framing, displays and other items as required.* Provides directory creation, cataloging and system support.* Provides research and presents industry trends and implementable improvements to affect efficient operation of the client's graphic center.* Provides on-site support primarily at main customer site location; provides occasional alternate or satellite site support and/or travel as needed. - Provides on-site support primarily during standard business hours and/or contractually mandated core hours from 0600-1800 hours, Monday through Friday; provides occasional support outside of core hours or on weekends as needed.* Adheres to and complies with client office procedures, schedules, and policies.* Performs daily, weekly monthly equipment and systems preventive maintenance and operations checks and services; secures office venues as required.* Submits and manages service requests and work orders for graphics service/work orders and requests; de-conflicts and resolves scheduling issues.* Responsible for the generation of and compliance with customer organization and contractual recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements; non-recurring and special reports; develops and implements metrics capture processes and procedures, quality control and assurance processes and procedures.Qualifications:Education and Years of Experience:* AA/AS in Graphic Arts or related field (or substitute 5 or more years relevant design and production experience)* 3 or more years relevant experienceRequired Skills/Certifications:* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Version 5 (CS5) or above including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.* Excellent customer service skills and professional presence.* Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to read, speak and effectively communicate in the English language.* Solid work ethic.Desired Skills/Certifications:* A working knowledge of the US Army command structures and policies.* A working knowledge of fine arts and crafts.Additional Requirements: TOP SECRET Clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and shall be eligible for indoctrination to the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Level at start date.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.Location: Fort Belvoir, VAWorking at DMIDMI is a diverse, prosperous and rewarding place to work.
