IT Field Technician

Someone with a wide breadth of IT knowledge, who is highly organized, has strong communication skills, and doesn't back down from a problem would be a good fit for this role.Primary Responsibilities- Provide field support to various clients' network infrastructure (including installation, and servicing/repairing of systems and equipment) in the DC Metro Area- Troubleshoot and restore routine technical services, perform system backup processes, and disaster recovery tests- Consulting on various aspects of LAN/WAN administration both on-site and remotely- Developing network and systems documentation as needed- Systems integration- Work station maintenance and troubleshooting (Computer, printer, hardware, copier, - and phone system (PBX) maintenance)- Server re/installs- Server hardware up/downgradesTechnical Requirements- Microsoft Windows Server Platforms (all roles and features)- Microsoft Windows Platforms- Cisco IOS Sonicwall- Routers and routing protocols- Firewalls and security concepts- Monitoring software- Basic DNS function and purpose- Cloud solutions- Apple hardware and software products Candidates Must Have:- At least 7 years' experience as a field technician - Be able to communicate effectively with customers to resolve their problems - In-depth knowledge of Microsoft server environments and technologies- Experienced in Cisco technologies- Strong understanding and technical knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards involving multiple site technologies- Ability to launch and complete successful enterprise technology infrastructure projects, as the primary lead for critical transitions of IT network consolidations within a large complex environment- Ability to manage concurrent projects across multiple business entities- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills- Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking, self-directed; with proven ability to prioritize tasks- Prior experience consulting or in a professional IT services environment- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation- Available for periodic after-hours and weekend maintenance as required - High-speed internet access- Ability to lift, carry and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
