Materials Engineer / Scientists
Join our team and work directly to support our Soldiers (PEO Soldier SETA) NCI: As one of the Materials Engineer / Scientists ( Functional Engineer ), you will be supporting our PEO Soldier mission at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and will have an opportunity to make a difference in our Soldiers day to day lives. Highlights of Responsibilities: Serve as an Engineer in the Technical Management Directorate of PM Soldier Protection and Individual Equipment. Evaluate and analyze data related to Soldier personal protective equipment, to include ballistic material testing, injury reports, and simulation of events in combat to ensure that there will be on hand at all times sufficient and current information to provide a ready, accurate, and complete response to any inquiry regarding engineering related issues from higher headquarters. Prepare results of analyses for reporting and/or briefing to the directorate leadership. Requirements: Active Secret security clearance. Bachelors/Master degree in: Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Physical Sciences (chemistry, physics, materials or thermal) 1-3 yrs experience from date of degree in related field. Preferred Education and Experience: Familiarity with DoD acquisition and life cycle management policies, procedures, and practices. Familiarity with JMP, Minitab or other statistical analysis software. Experience or coursework in R&D project management.
