Blue Canopy Group, LLC is looking for a Senior Privacy Specialist to support our large Cyber Security Program (with a Prime Federal Client) in Arlington, VA. As part of the program, this candidate will serve as the lead of the Data Privacy team. Key Attributes:Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detailAbility to supervise staff, including planning, directing, coordinating, leading, counseling, and evaluating performance of the staffStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to work well both as a team lead and as an independent consultant to perform assignments with limited instruction;Strong writing skills and ability to communicate effectively with client and project management Role and Responsibilities:Coordinate or develop operational processes for privacy complianceConduct reviews to identify vulnerabilities that could result in the loss or mismanagement of personally identifiable information (PII)Coordinate the editorial process related to document management, deadlines, content management, workflow, and approval processes related to projectsSupport the development and completion of Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)Research and identify relevant data privacy and information security practices associated with complex business processes; create and recommend corrective recommendations and actionsDevelop and manage multiple assessment reportsCreate, update, and edit privacy-related directives, policies and guidanceSupport and manage client's incident response activities and mitigation strategiesMaintain productive professional relationship with the client's IT security and privacy staff, business process owners, and other divisional staff Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:A degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science or other related discipline (preferred)At least eight (8) years of general experience in reviewing, auditing, and risk-based assessment of systems and business processes for privacy and/or information security related issues at progressively increasing levels of responsibilityAt least six (6) years of specialized experience in Privacy directly related to the interpretation and application of the requirements/mandates stipulated in the Privacy Act of 1974, the E-Gov Act of 2002, and pertinent OMB guidance, including the development and conduct of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), the development and publication of System of Records Notices (SORNs) and Privacy Act Statements, responding to incidents related to the breach of PII, and user awareness activities focusing on PrivacyAt least two (2) years of experience in the application of computer technology, requirements definition, systems analysis, computer programming, testing, or quality assurance activitiesExcellent communication skills, particularly technical writing and presentation skillsExpert knowledge of MS Office suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS ProjectExposure to or have knowledge of the OECD Privacy GuidelinesExperience in data privacy issues in federal government environment;Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (major in Information Assurance a plus);Be an effective manager and provide guidance to team members while cultivating a desire to learn more about information privacy and securityPublic Trust clearable (OPM SF85P) Optional Skills and Experience Desired:CIPP or CIPP/G certification is highly desiredCISA, CIA, or CISSP (a plus) Clearance: US Citizen - Must be able to obtain "Public Trust" level clearance. (SF-85 and SF-86 submission required).
