Responsibilities The Security Lifecycle Product Engineer is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest versions and next generation security products in a lab environment to test and certify that they are compatible with our platform and ready for customer use. You will be responsible for receiving requests from Sales, Product, or our Security Operations Centers (driven by customer requests) to test new security products, working through the product lifecycle. Verizon is in Gartner's Leader Quadrant for Managed Security Service Providers both in the US and globally. Verizon is at the forefront of developing new standards for protection against, insight into and detection and mitigation of cyber security threats. Join us! Qualifications Must have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Four or more years of relevant work experience. Must possess or have the ability to qualify for a government clearance. Ideally, you'll also have Degree in Computer Science. Three or more years of experience as a hands-on security device engineer. Strong Linux command line experience. Demands familiarity with principles, theories, concepts and technologies surrounding firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc. as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of the following areas: Cisco Juniper Fortinet Checkpoint Palo Alto McAfee F5 Tipping Point FireEye Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing) and various operating systems. Good knowledge security technologies and frameworks. Capable and willing to acquire in-depth knowledge of a large variety of security and IT solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent documentation skills and willing to write very detailed user instructions. Demonstrated ability to work within the confines of defined projects frequently against deadlines. Proven ability to follow strict procedures. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships. Security analytics skills to effectively perform complex assignments. CISSP or other security industry certifications.
