Evictions Legal Assistant for Real Estate Law Firm
With over 40 years of experiences in Real Estate Law, our Law Firm has an immediate opening for a full- time Evictions Legal Assistant in our Laurel, MD office! We are a high volume, fast- paced, multi-office law firm representing Mortgage Lenders, Banks and Financial Institutions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC and Virginia through the Foreclosure and Bankruptcy legal process. Our Legal Assistants are responsible for performing specific job responsibilities and task within a legal setting under direct supervision of Team Lead and Managing Attorney. The purpose of the eviction is to assist the bank in lawfully gaining possession of the property after a foreclosure sale as quickly and effectively as possible. The main objective of the Eviction Legal Assistant(s) will be to work a file from start to completion during the possessory action. The Legal Assistant is responsible for efficiently and effectively working their assigned files and notifying the managing attorney if there is an issue. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Legal file reviews and validations File management to ensure court and evictions deadline are met Responsible for drafting, completing revision from Attorneys and then sending legal documents such as Motions, Affidavits, and Notice of Intent VA, MD or DC Court Houses relating to evictions Answering and updating clients on file status through multiple clients internet based systems Communicating with former owners, tenants, courts, and local sheriff's office on a daily basis regarding active evictions matters. Legal research on legal matter Handling Cash for Keys options Assisting with projects/assignments from Attorneys We are looking for team members driven and excited to learn something new every day! Candidates who have strong professional written and communication skills, experienced in drafting and proofreading documents, and have a willingness to work meticulously to ensure the quality of your work is completed. This position is great for any recent college graduate; high school diploma required. Previous experience in a law firm, title, bankruptcy, evictions, foreclosure and/ or mortgage banking is a plus, but not required. This is a full-time position, with immediately availability. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with Medical, Vision and Dental insurance.
