Our client in Washington, DC is seeking a highly-experienced Windows System administrator to collaborate with the customer and recommend technical standards, architect system design, configuration based on requirements and best practices. This candidate will perform the following tasks: Strong understanding of AD Attributes, LDAP/LDAPS Queries, PowerShell Scripting to Modify AD Attributes, Group Policy Analysis, GPO Configuration & Item-Level Targeting, Workstation Configurations, Browser Configuration Settings, familiarity with Applications that integrated with Active Directory. * Strong knowledge of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), including the management of updates within an isolated domain and establishing processes to keep up with patching requirements. * Understanding of operating in a VMware virtual environment to manage test and production servers. * Strong knowledge of backing up and restoring Windows systems Exceptionally strong articulation and communication skills required for daily interactive with System Administrators. Account Management and Provisioning Activity strengths for this work stream will include, but are not limited to: * Strong knowledge of permissions that are granted natively to various Microsoft Built-In Groups to perform Active Directory Administrative Functionsknowledge of native permissions granted when building AD objects, knowledge of permissions granted natively to Built-In Groups via GPOs and/or Local Policies. * Ability to read product documentation to conceptualize and implement solutions, build Domain Controllers and Member Servers to support Enterprise Solutions. * Thorough functional understanding and ability to configure Active Directory Server Roles (CAs, IIS, File/Print, DNS). * Working knowledge of creating and managing GPOs, AD Sites, Replication Topology, and native AD troubleshooting tools. * Provides technical solutions and escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues. * Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness of cost and compatibility. * Implements system upgrade strategies. Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of highly complex solutions. * Coordinates activities with other technical personnel. * Conducts capacity planning reviews with management Required Skills: * Minimum of eight (8) years designing and managing multiple Active Directory Forests and Domains for a large, geographically dispersed enterprise (minimum 1000 users) * Minimum of eight (8) years' experience administering DNS, WINS, DHCP and PKI Ability to read product documentation to conceptualize and implement solutions, build Domain Controllers and Member Servers to support Enterprise Solutions. * Strong knowledge of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), including the management of updates within an isolated domain and establishing processes to keep up with patching requirements. * Thorough functional understanding and ability to configure Active Directory Server Roles (CAs, IIS, File/Print, DNS). * Experience with configuring Group Policy Objects to secure a Windows infrastructure. * Experience with complex scripting leveraging PowerShell Experience working at an AD 2008 functional level and migration to 2012 functional level Experience with domain consolidations/migrations Experience with installing, configuring, and managing Microsoft SQL Working knowledge of Azure Cloud and/or AWS, and in a Technical leadership role with Windows System Administration Windows Engineering experience preferred. Required Education: Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Information Technology Discipline, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, plus 6+ years of work experience - or - Master's degree plus 5+ years work experience - or - PhD plus 4+ years of experience MCSA 2012 and MCITP-SA Microsoft Certifications strongly preferred *Candidate must be Public Trust Eligible and obtain a public trust clearance prior to start date OPEN TO US CITIZENS ONLY.
