Construction General Superintendent
Our distinguished client, Morgan-Keller Construction, is seeking a General Superintendent to coordinate construction operations for the entire project including field superintendents. skilled and semi-skilled craft team members, laborers, equipment, materials and subcontractor installation activities. Essential Duties:* Plan and review the project work with the Project Managers and Superintendents.* Provide input on job-site logistics, organization, project layout, equipment and manpower utilization.* Prepare work schedules and keep them updated.* Assist the Project Superintendent in scheduling and expediting the delivery of materials and equipmentfor their timely on-site delivery.* Manage all project site equipment issues and needs.* Monitors projects for performance, manpower and schedule to ensure all projects are delivered on time.* Trains new team members; provides performance review feedback and separation of employmentprocesses.* Supervise field team members in accordance with company policies and procedures.* Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors and suppliers.* Obtain, or see that the subcontractors obtain, all necessary permits for temporary and constructionpurposes.* Coordinate the work on site with the activities of inspection agencies as necessary.* Handle job labor relations and maintain regulatory compliances.* Ensure employee compliance with safety and quality control programs.* Keep Project Manager informed as to changes made in the field, so that such changes may be coveredby change orders and subcontract change orders. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards* Proficient with applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, OSHA requirements and other legalrestrictions* Self motivated; possess strong work ethic* Positive communication , teamwork and organizational skills* Detail oriented* Proficient with Microsoft Office software* Management and leadership skills Education and Experience:* Four-year engineering or construction degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience* Six to eight years experience in construction, design, estimating, scheduling, and/or management Physical Demand and Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that mustbe met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
