The client seeks a Business Analyst to document, identify, and consult on business needs with a focus on enhancements to existing systems and development on new systems. Continual customer interaction and the ability to work under pressure is essential to this position.Required Experience/Skills:* 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst* Defines and documents customer business functions and processes* Consults with management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access* Lead requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable* Excels at interpreting business and function requirements and clearly communicating requirements to development teams* Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users* Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications* Strong understanding of the full lifecycle (SDLC) with Agile/Scrum experience* Strong testing skills* Proven ability to consult with business end users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives* Participate in customer status meetings as scheduled* Facilitate requirements prioritization based on business need* Collect and analyze the project's business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team* Manage changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle* Knowledge of relational databases* Experience working in a Windows environment* A strong understanding of web-based applicationsPreferred/Desired Skills:* Experience working in a Java based platform* Experience with VersionOne or similar Agile project tracking based tools* Ability to write basic SQL queries* The ability to think analytically, solve problems to complex business processes, and document results* Excellent communication skills: expected to write requirements documentation, and other documentation as necessary* Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPointEducation:* BS in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field, or equivalent experience and/or professional certificationBenefits: Full-time employees (permanent or contract employees who are employed for a term greater than 6 months) are eligible for benefits including time-off benefits, such as vacations and holidays, and insurance and other plan benefits.Location: Herndon, VANOTE: Client must be onsite in Herndon VA and customer site in Washington DC.
