EPIC Training and Communication Specialist
JOB SUMMARY Work with the Optimization Team to help provide timely and robust communications related to new products, and help develop, deliver, and maintain efficiency training program. Specialist will work with the technical build team to fully understand what changes are being introduced to the EPIC (KP HealthConnect) system and what new requirements are being asked of employees. The Training and Communication Specialist will work with the optimization team to recommend and produce the necessary training materials, including tip-sheets, videos, online self-learning, WebEx, or other media. The Training and Communication Specialist will lend general training support as needed to help improve efficiency and optimize the use of technical systems. RESPONSIBILITIESAssists in development of training assessments, evaluations, and learning activities to evaluate overall training effectiveness.Monitor existing metrics to better understand training effectiveness and persistent training needs/gaps.Runs clarity/chronicles reports when needed to understand pre-user behavior and post-project implementation value realization outcome.Participates in product design reviews to understand what changes are being proposed and implemented.Provides support for new module deployments and upgrades.Works with the communication team (ECOS) to establish the best way to communicate changes.Assists in development of training curriculum for new application as well as systems enhancements.Assists in performance of curriculum review, testing, and content updates in association with application build updates.Supports the optimization team with building clinical contentProduces and publishes Captivate/Camtasia (e-Learning) videosCreates project specific PowerPoint presentations.Creates tip sheets and other training materials as needed.Assists with designing and maintaining curriculum including learning objectives, training plans, trainer notes, exercises, handouts, review activities, and audio-visual aids, using PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and screen capture technologies such as Snagit or Captivate.Assists with on-site training, including one-on-one and group (eg at department meetings) training.Works directly with the physicians to analyze workflows and then develop and train efficiency improvements.Problem-solves, as needed, with physicians on challenges with the use of the system.Assists with the resolution of hardware, software, training and documentation problems as appropriate.Manages special projects within the training team as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSProficiency or certification in EPIC Ambulatory product and/or other EPIC products preferred.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.Two (2) years of technical training experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and professional clinical experience required.Healthcare experience is preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.Satisfactory rating on MAPMG administered analytical assessment required.Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation, and listening skills.Fast, self-motivated learner.Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.Travel for product training and some occasional travel may be required.
