Concordia Lutheran Church Child Care Center is seeking an enthusiastic Child Care Teacher Senior Staff for our child care center and before and after care program. Hours of operation are 6 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday. In this position you will be:Exhibiting emotional stability and awareness of the emotional needs of children, parents and coworkers, at all timesApplying the principals of "Positive Discipline"Being the primary caregiver for an assigned small group of children, providing basic care and forming a bond of intimacy and trust with these children and parentsMaintaining a positive and cohesive working relationship with co-workers.Work with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matterAble to model positive conflict resolution and redirection for childrenPlan and carry out a curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as social emotional, language & literacy, motor, and cognitiveOrganize activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talentsDevelop schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtimePracticing and enforcing required sanitation procedures for diaper changing, hand washing and changing table clean up.Maintain a clean and well organized classroom.Completing a written Daily Report for parents of each primary care child, and submitting a copy of report to the director.Keep records of the students progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child's developmentServe in various roles throughout the center as needed Requirements: At least two years of early childhood education experience required, with an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and the ability to ensure its use in the classroom 90 hour preschool 45 hours school age Breastfeeding class ADA class First aid/CPRA love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every dayExcellent administrative, organizational, verbal, listening, and communication skills requiredCPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtainCriminal background check requiredMedical examination requiredMust meet state specific guidelines for the roleMust be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
