Software System Architect, Senior Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD Join our team and be a part of the mission that supports Project Manager (PM) Electronic Warfare and Cyber (EW&C) Support for Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA). This program includes programmatic services, technical services, engineering, testing, logistics, training, integration, business management, administrative and operational program support necessary to accomplish the missions and goals of Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEWS) PM EW&C and PM EW. Team members have an in-depth understanding of PEO IEWS systems and all components to include Sensor subsystems, Control subsystems, and Technical Insertion initiatives. Programs currently being supported include (but are not limited to): Electronic Attack (EA) Systems, Prophet, Wolfhound, MISER, Electronic Warfare Planning and Management Tool (EWPMT), Radio Frequency (RF) Interference Mitigation (RIM), Electromagnetic Spectrum Operation (EMSO), and Information Warfare. We are currently recruiting for key team members for the award of the contract. Software System Architect RESPONSIBILITIES & qualifications: Provides technical direction to design and development teams, and monitors progress and productivity through the use of metrics. Must be capable of providing detailed technical support for software development programs with minimal management supervision. Must have detailed knowledge of modern software development processes, to include object-oriented development and use of tools, and how to apply them to software application program development. Must be capable of translating operational requirements into detailed software/system requirements. Must be capable of integrating COTS products into software/system architectures. Must be able to rapidly digest new tools and technologies and integrate them into existing products and processes. Must have detailed knowledge of distributed systems, and issues regarding database replication and distribution for distributed systems. Additionally, must have a comprehensive understanding of communications protocols, and be able to quickly understand the Common Operating Environment and Army Technical Architecture guidelines. Must have demonstrated ability to provide software support on a large software development effort with minimal management supervision. Must have advanced knowledge of modern software development processes and tools, and track record of applying them to programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR Software System Architect: Have a TS/SCI Clearance. DoD IAT-II Level Cert - Security+ Bachelors - Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or Technical discipline. 8 years of experience in Software Engineering is required; an additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the degree. Experience with Java. Must be able to work well with others in an ethical and professional manner. Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design. Participates in the development of test strategies. Solving engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.
