Construction Project Engineer
Our distinguished client, Morgan-Keller Construction, is seeking a Project Engineer to provide assistance for oversight of all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Essential Duties:* Assist the Project Manager in managing technical and contractual issues.* Create scopes of work for contracts and purchase orders for each trade as determined by project for review byProject Manager.* Attend progress meetings with owners and prepare meeting minutes for distribution.* Review submittals and confirm they are consistent with project plans and specifications and transmit for approval.* Review drawings/specifications and prepare RFls (Request for Information).* Assist with oversight of all field personnel, subcontractors and vendors.* Receive, review, and analyze bid documents (eg ., specifications, scope, contract terms & conditions).* Assist with preparation of proposal documents.* Administer change orders and back charges.* Coordinate project updates.* Maintain working documents files for project estimate back up.* Assist with preparation of cost analysis reports for record keeping and presentation to management as needed.* Prepare progress requests for submittal to customers.* Develop correspondence regarding project information as directed by Project Manager.* Create owner's manuals at job inceptions; update throughout construction phase for submission at jobcompletion.* Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Ability to solve technical problems.* Strong fundamental knowledge of engineering and management principles and knowledge of businessprocedures.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software.* Strong communication, planning, and organization skills.* Multi-tasking ability with attention to detail.* Ability to prioritize while meeting deadlines.* Communication skills.* Ability to interact with various trades, managers and peers in a professional manner. Education/Experience:* Four year degree in engineering, construction management, or architectural discipline* 2-4 years experience in a construction related field .
