Responsible for unit operations, staff competencies/education and patient services. Directs a staff of personnel in the achievement of clinical and administrative policies, mandates and projects. Responsible for the outcome of decisions made by management staff.2. Ensures delivery of quality patient care through establishing standards of care and practice and coordinating patient care across departments.3. Implements measures to assure Patient, Physician and Employee satisfaction meets or exceeds benchmarks.4. Establishes and implements organizational plans delineating performance expectations to area employees, either directly or by delegation.5. Responsible for patient throughput issues. Ensures prompt movement of patients through the organization.6. Responsible and accountable for annual budget. Synthesizes activities such as assimilation of raw data, compilation of statistics and control of fiscal and production activities for the process of budgetary analysis and development.7. Establishes and allocates staff resources in accordance with regulatory guidelines utilizing productivity measures, patient acuity and budgetary indicators as primary benchmarks.8. Responsible for strategic planning, business planning activities, marketing and execution of area activities. Participates in the overall strategic planning, and implementation of hospital goals, objectives and mission.9. Represents patient care interest through leadership roles on selected Medical C enter committees.10. Works closely and partners with the physician chair responsible for given areas.11. Maintains a system of communication for advising the Chief Nursing Officer on all aspects of operations.12. Assumes administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer.RequirementsEducation: Masters degree in nursing or related (nursing preparation must be at least at Bachelors level if Masters degree is in related field)Licensure: Registered Nurse in State of Maryland or eligibleExperience: Five years of progressive nursing leadershipPhysical Requirements/Working ConditionsLight Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
