Senior Network Engineer
LOOKINGGLASS CYBER SOLUTIONS is seeking to hire a sharp and dynamic Network Engineer at our headquarters in Reston, VA. This position will be working from Data Centers in Ashburn, VA and Baltimore, MD as needed, including after hours and weekends; OVERVIEW OF POSITION:The candidate should possess experience in Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Trusted Internet Connection (TIC), network virtual switching, load balancing, and WAN acceleration design and implementation using Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo-Alto;Able to configure Cisco routers/switches, F5 Global and Local Traffic Managers, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k, 4500x, Cisco Wireless and Cisco 6509;Resolve incidents, problems, and change requests in accordance with service-level agreements (SLA's) and approved maintenance windows;Monitor ticket queues during normal business hours;Participate in an after-hours and holiday on-call rotation with other infrastructure engineers;Develop professional diagrams and illustrations with software such as Visio, OmniGraffle, and Dia;Supplement existing documentation to reflect all new changes to an environment;Correct errors and deficiencies & continuously expand product proficiency/product diversity;Must be able to lift 40 pounds;This position will be working from Data Center at Ashburn VA and Baltimore MD as needed including after hours and weekends; QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in related field;Minimum 8+ years data center network infrastructure experience;Possesses a strong background in Cisco router and switch (Catalyst and Nexus) configuration using industry standard networking tools;Proven hands-on network engineering experience;Deep understanding of networking protocols (eg, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS);Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model;Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools;Strong Knowledge of Nexus switches;Experience with Cisco ASA firewall appliances;Experience with Firewall and Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) security implementations;Experience with F5 Load Balancers;Experience with Palo-Alto Firewalls;Ability to work well independently, and in a team environment, to administer and support the overall program;Exhibit good time management skills, independent decision making capabilities, and a focus on customer service;Possess good communication skills, both oral and written;Experience with SolarWinds or other Network Management System (NMS);Experience configuring SNMP managed devices;Familiarity with networking SAN/NAS devices;CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued), Security+. DESIRED SKILLS:Experience with process development and deployment;Familiarity with Vcenter/Vsphere design, configuration and deployment;Experience with Cross Domain Solution (CDS) implementation;Experience with Trusted thin client implementations;Experience with System Information Management (SIEM) system integration;Experience implementing Role Based Access Security in a DoD environment;Experience with basic WINDOWS and LINUX systems administration functions;Development Experience;SDN Experience. CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued), Security+.
