Linux Systems Administrator
Linux Systems Administrator Standard Description The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for leading and supporting Red Hat Linux, and VMWare infrastructure and virtualization technologies. Will be responsible for systems administration, operations, maintenance, and support for linux servers (physical and virtual), firmware, operating systems, software applications, and computer security compliance. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:Implement and support client and server technology infrastructure, hardware, software, office systems, systems' performance, and technology integration.Working with monitoring tools, assess and interprets the logical and physical requirements of systems and applications in relation to hardware, software and operational needs.Implement efficiencies through automations (Able to leverage scripting through PowerShell, Power CLI, VBScript, and batch to automate processes).Investigates new developments and makes recommendations on additions or replacements. Detailed Description Day to day data management of Linux VM Infrastructure including configuring, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a Linux Server environment. Manage and support high-availability Data management systems. Address user and environment issues quickly and efficiently with minimal downtime. Perform Server Deployment, upgrades and version release management. Assists Operations manager in determining engineering requirements that meet the needs of the business, as well as implementing according to the agreed schedule. Perform monthly scheduled Patch management via Redhat Satellite. Maintain user access (privileged, non-privileged) with Red Hat Identity Management Domain. Support Network configuration management as it relates to the use of DNS, LDAP, DHCP, TLS/SSL. Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field/discipline7+ Years of experience in Linux Systems Administration & Engineering.Strong working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.x/7.x, Vmware, Kerberos, and scripting languages.Experience performing Configuration Management using Redhat Satellite and Redhat Identity Management (IDM) Domain.Experience working with DNS, LDAP, DHCP, TLS/SSL.Strong Linux server troubleshooting and skills.Excellent written and oral communication skillsFamiliar with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Active Directory.Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).Current Security+ CertificationActive Clearance or able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Desired QualificationsRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).ITIL Foundation CertificationExperience Supporting Federal Government Agencies or DoD, in a security role.Experience working in a VMWare virtualized environment.Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment and follow written policies and procedures.Experience with implementing Data Center High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
