Software Test Engineer (Software Verification & Validation): Software tester needed to create and execute verification and validation test plans in support of Clinical Chemistry Analyzers and a variety of software tools. - Position requires the ability to support the testing of software products and tools through hands-on instrument operation and through software test tools. - Position requires the ability to work with a internal developer or OEM vendor. - Position requires an understanding of how to test software graphical user interfaces as well as low level protocol communications - Knowledgeable in Waterfall, Cyclic and Agile software development cycles. -Knowledgeable in how to write and records manual test cases - Understands the primary uses of a Clinical Chemistry Analyzer System in order to develop verification test scripts, boundary and stress test scripts. - Candidate will work with the Validation Team and/or OEM vendor to clarify requirements. - Candidate must be able to use the Siemens Network to access information and to exercise the network functionality of Chemistry products. - Candidate must be able to troubleshoot interface problems to determine the functional area of defect origination. - Applicant must apply statistical quality control methods in the course of testing and be familiar with the use of PC tools to plan and record testing. - Candidate will use a defect tracking system to document software anomalies. - Candidate may perform simple sample standards preparation in support of possible Instrument testing. - Candidate may perform simple chemistry testing, perform daily QC's and maintain calibrations as required on Lab Instruments. - Position requires advanced ability to maintain laboratory records. . ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE: - Medical Technologists AAS Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or BS Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or an applied science preferred. - Knowledge about hospital lab organization. - Strong PC skills including the use of on-line databases, Internet Explorer, MS-Word, MS-EXCEL, and MS-PowerPoint. - Working knowledge of HIS/LIS a plus. - Strong organizational and documentation skills required. - Basic understanding of automated testing development and execution. - Must be available to demonstrate flexibility to work in an environment with defined deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must to effectively communicate technical and clinical information to a diverse team - Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to enable participation in product design and evolution - Strong attention to detail - Self-motivated, as well as being able to accomplish tasks in a team environment - Desire to learn new technologies and methodologies a must - Must be able to thrive in an ever-changing environment, with the capacity to handle deadlines, change, as well as ambiguity - Must have an understanding of networking connectivity. - Passionate about testing software and finding bugs!
