Redgrave LLP is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Chantilly, VA. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will provide data for the Firm's accounting system. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is also responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues and generating weekly aging reports. The position suits an individual who is detailed-oriented, able to multi-task in a faced-paced environment and able to think independently in resolving complicated situations. Job Responsibilities Assists in preparation of bills and invoices for clients Monitor and assure timekeeper entries are complete and timely Assist in editing and review of pre-bills with the accounting function, responsible attorneys and client teams to insure accuracy and completeness of invoices Input and allocate all checks, wires, and ACH payments each day into the Orion accounting system Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables' data Research and analyze collection issues, coordinate with appropriate personnel to identify and resolve further aging of delinquent balances; contact clients via phone and email Monitor client invoice short pays, researches and resolve client Accounts Receivable issues Monitor client electronic billing outstanding invoices Research/run special reports and helps billing attorneys in preparing their clients billing Correct rejected LEDES submissions Prepares aging reports Use of the AR collection module within Orion Make all necessary adjustments, corrections and write-offs as instructed Assist in new client intake process Prepare and delivery of periodic progress reports including appropriate metrics Adherence to business standards and procedures Perform other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in accounting or related field minimum; Prefer bachelor's degree or higher 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area highly desirable Knowledge of general accounting principals SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Critical thinker, detailed-oriented with excellent analytical abilities essential Proficient with MS Office (especially Excel) and office productivity software skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside vendors Display a positive and proactive attitude Ability to function in a high energy fast paced environment Ability to maintain an atmosphere where team spirit thrives on cooperation, trust, and empowerment Ability to maintain thorough and open communications - whether the information is positive or negative, by relaying this information as quickly and accurately as possible to their supervisor and other affected team members Must be a self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently, multitask and organize.
