Job Description Summary:Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Provides technical support to project team members. Demonstrates knowledge/experience in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report directly to a project lead or manager.Key Activities:* Create/maintain/tune large scale wiki installations; Support enhancements in design, develop and test web pages; Deploy to production and lower environments* Set up Mediawiki Namespaces; and apply security models; Memcache and Elastic Search; Lua scripting and how the Mediawiki page object model generates javascript* Build/use Mediawiki Templates (including variables and conditional text through parser functions)* Create / implement and maintain web pages/services in support of search initiatives* Build, modify Stored Procedures, Views, and Table structures for new initiatives or enhancements for existing applications* Application Unit testing and Quality Assurance* Train others how to maintain and administer the Mediawiki siteOther Activities:* Request for Changes submittal and presentation to the Change Control Board.* Service request monitoring, scheduling, updating.* Work flow diagrams, technical requirements and practice, procedure, process documentation.Required Skills Education/Experience: May require an advanced degree or equivalent in a related area and 4-7 years of experience in the field.Ideal candidate will have the following experience:-Web Service Stacks/Technologies/Servers: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (required)-ASP.NET1.1/2.0/3.0/3.5/4.0, IIS, Web Services, WCF (desired)-Languages: PHP, ASP.NET, C#, Winforms, Webforms, VB.NET, VB, ASP, PL/SQL (desired)-.NET and Entity framework (required)-Lifecycle development of web applicationsOther Skills:-SQL Server / Database Development/Administration-T-SQL Queries,T-SQL Procedures,T-SQL Views, T-SQL Functions, T-SQL Triggers, T-SQL OLE Automation Objects, DBCC commands, SQL Management Studio, DTS, SSIS, Report Services, SQL Data Warehouse-Experience on JIRA ticketing system.Employment Type Full timeCareer Level Mid CareerJob ID 52239642Company Serco Inc.
