Low Voltage Technician uses skilled techniques to perform low voltage electrical installation tasks independently in building interiors at new construction and built-out sites including open floor plans. The position applies complex measurements, specifications, and instructions. Uses advanced mathematics to plan, measure, lay out low voltage wiring, and programs and services switches and motor group controllers. Understands Low Voltage tie-in to AV or lighting systems. The Low Voltage Communications Technician carries material, erects scaffoldin,g places and climbs ladders, and cleans work area at end of shift. The position directs skilled and unskilled workers. 1. Runs Low Voltage Wire 2. Suspends Low Voltage Wire to Code 3. Drills Holes in Pockets or Poke-Throughs 4. Crimps and tests Low Voltage Wire 5. Makes custom length leads 6. Lands Motor Group Controllers 7. Roughs in Switch Locations and Device Rings 8. Fishes wire through walls and ceilings as needed 9. Programs/services basic shade and control systems. 10. Interprets complex instructions, sketches, blueprints and wiring schematics. 11. Work product is completed with accuracy, fit, and finished appearance. 12. Review of work is primarily for compliance with objectives, timeliness and quality of workmanship. 13. Can trouble shoot low voltage electrical system issues 14. Experienced with electro-shade systems; can set limits and make programming changes. 15. Responsible for job site management. 16. Coordinates with customer Site Management. 17. Maintains project punch list and debriefs Operations department on daily progress. 18. Climbs ladders while maneuvering material; holds material overhead. 19. May perform work on elevated platforms. 20. Drives company vehicle to job site 21. Ensures that proper company and customer safety and incident reporting procedures are followed Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, 40 hours per week. This position may require long hours and weekend work. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Three years' experience as a low voltage installer. Demonstrated ability to tie low voltage wiring into AV or lighting systems; program motor group controllers; and interpret complex instructions, sketches, blue prints and wire schematics. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
