Position Details Unit Specific Unit Name: SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARKReports to: Front Desk ManagerPosition Summary: Performs audit functions for all revenue producing departments, including rooms, food and beverage, retail and guest recreation. Provides the highest quality of guest service and hospitality to guests. Oversees and/or assists with third shift operations in the absence of managers or supervisors in individual departments. Provides visible security presence to protect guests, our associates and the physical property of the Lodge.Essential Functions: Greets and registers hotel guests, answer questions, and resolves guest concerns Prepare revenue, statistical and other management reports Responsible for performing switchboard duties when including security, night housing, and maintenance dispatch. Performs cash handling and maintains accurate paperwork as relates to front office operations Resolves problems in an efficient manner using good judgment and personal resources, sometimes while under pressure Posts and balances reports and charges on the hotel system Participates in training new employees Supports and ensures compliance with the Company's environmental initiatives Performs other tasks as assigned by management Non-essential Functions: Additional duties deemed necessary by Management. Education & Experience: Six (6) months previous front office and bookkeeping or audit experience required Working knowledge of computers required, Springer-Miller Systems experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to operate a 10-key calculator by touch Must be able to prepare legible written reports Must be able to work independently, prioritize work and make decisions regarding the correct formatting of work. Must be self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision, and eager to be challenged and initiate projects and opportunities. A high level of concentration and attention to detail is required. Must have the ability to work independently, prioritize work to meet deadlines and make decisions regarding correct formatting of work. Physical Requirements: Stand for long periods of time and speak clearly. Read maps, give correct directions. Have good memorization skills and be detail oriented. Have a friendly and outgoing personality. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift an occasional 30 pound maximum, with some twisting, bending, and reaching Must read, write, speak and understand English well. Must possess the ability to verbally communicate effectively and positively with co-workers and guests. Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
