ClearView is currently seeking Senior Risk Consultants to serve clients in the Baltimore, Washington, and Northern Virginia region as well as other client locations, as necessary. Supervision of Staff Associates may be required depending on engagement requirements. Position Description: The Senior Risk Consultant performs risk-based audits and consulting engagements under the direction of more senior members of the audit team. Responsibilities include assessing risks, developing audit plans and programs, performing audits, and evaluating/reporting on internal controls. In addition, the Senior Consultant is expected to assess processes for efficiency and present recommendations for process enhancements to the project team. Specific responsibilities will include: Assess the adequacy of the design of internal controls to mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks and test their operating effectiveness. Work independently with minimal supervision to plan, develop, and potentially lead audits to examine and evaluate the system of internal controls and the reliability and integrity of financial and operating information. Assist in evaluating processes and controls for compliance with relevant existing or proposed laws and regulations, established policies, plans and procedures. Appraise the adequacy of the corrective actions taken to remediate deficiencies identified during audits. Prepare audit reports and recommend improvements to financial and operational processes; make oral and written presentations during and at the conclusion of the audit. Obtain and analyze data as basis for reviewing the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of systems and processes. Develop and implement audit programs and procedures and reviews each for adequacy. Plan, review, and direct the work of Staff Associates. Develop and maintain knowledge of emerging risk areas and related control techniques. Project Management - Demonstrates excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills. Able to manage multiple assignments proficiently. Effectively prioritizes tasks and manages time to meet established budget and milestones. Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Professionalism - Reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments. Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; applies feedback to improve performance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. 3 - 5 years auditing, accounting, or finance experience. Certification or advanced degree preferred (CPA, CIA, MBA, etc.). Demonstrated knowledge of business risks and effective systems of internal controls. Working knowledge of financial and operating policies and standards and compliance issues. Demonstrated proficiency in reviewing, considering, criticizing and/or auditing financial and operational controls or process improvement experience.
