Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: Position is responsible for maintaining and repairing of facilities and equipment within the company on designated shift while prioritizing and assigning tasks to other Maintenance Technicians on the shift. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: (includes, but not limited to) Machine repair and preventative maintenance; must be able to perform this independently in many cases. Emergency repairs, must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment problems Installation assistance on capital projects Coordinate the design, modification, installation of equipment or process improvements Project management, including, selection, installation and startup of minor equipment purchases Facilities maintenance; eg, painting, building modifications, grounds maintenance Ability to trouble shoot and repair mechanical and electrical/electronic issues. Must be able to work independently and adhere to established safety standards. Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's. SOP's may cover the areas of (but are not limited to) Employee Health and Safety SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured. Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: (if any) Indirectly supervises work activities of other Techs on shift. Qualifications: Minimum 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting required. High School diploma or equivalent or higher required Knowledge of web handling processes desired Knowledge of flexographic printing, and lamination and slitting processes desired Hands on experience working with, and knowledge of electrical 3-phase wiring, installation and repair of machinery up to at least 480 volt.and electronic repair required Experience in electronic troubleshooting and repair of industrial and or manufacturing machinery Knowledge and experience troubleshooting and evaluating PLC's and drives is highly desirable Excellent oral and computer communication skills Ability to work well with others Ability to define and solve problems without assistance, dealing with many variables and limited information Physical Requirements: The following are required to perform the duties of this position: Lifting of 60 lbs or less (frequent), lifting up to 80 lbs (occasional), standing and sitting (frequent), crawling, stooping, and kneeling (occasional), reaching with arms & crouching (occasional), working and reaching overhead (occasional, could be for extended periods), movement of head and neck in sometimes odd positions depending on area of machine or activity being worked on (frequent) Required to work at heights using ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces for short periods of time during equipment inspections and modifications. Ability to use hand tools and large equipment. Ability to become certified on a sitdown forklift Working Conditions: (travel, working hours, any unusual environmental conditions, protective wear required, etc.) Infrequent travel may be required for maintaining certifications, seminars, and training sessions Exposure to chemicals (inks, solvents), moving mechanical parts, extended noise, etc. may require the use of personal protective equipment; ear-plugs, safety glasses, gloves, etc.
